From the beginning of 20 century, the north Indian community was as much deep rooted as south Indian community.

Before 1960, the North Indians had no special place of worship and used to worship at the north Indian Hindu Association at cuff road.

In 1960s, several residential units were purchased by the North Indian community and converted into the Shree Lakshminarayan Temple.

On 24th April 1969, Shree Lakshminarayan Temple has been officially opened. The temple is sanctuary of the spiritual values and culture of Sanatan Dharm and Vedic Hindu tradition. It is a place of faith, devotion, worship, love, peace and harmony.

The temple has constantly been upgrading its facilities and services to serve the devotees better. Devotees now have a better and comfortable place for worship. Over years the role of temple has changed. Today temple is not only the place of worship, but it has become an important focal point for the Hindu Community to meet and interact. It fulfills the spiritual as well as the cultural needs of the society and fosters positive social values.

Few years back temple got its another upgrading and now multipurpose hall is part of temple building. during renovation , Shiva Lingam was also installed so devotees can offer abhishek to Lord Shiva.

Janmastami(Lord Krishna's birth) is the biggest festival celebrated in temple along with many more other festivals like Navratri. During Navratri temple organise special prayers and Bhajans for it's devotees.
