Shri Maha Mariamman Temple, fondly known as " Pink Temple of Singapore " by its devotees, is situated in the heart of the bustling Yishun Housing Estate of Singapore.
It's history dates back to the early 1930s. Temple was initially situated at Sembawang Hills Estate. Sometimes in 1940s, it subsequently relocated to Mandai.
Since 1996, temple stands majestically at its 2000square metre land at Yishun Avenue 3. New temple building was consecrated on 18 may 1997, under Mrs. Kalyani Ramasamy's presidency.
Temple witnessed another grand consecration ceremony on 18 April 2010.An estimated number of 15,000 devotees attended the event.
Over the years temple has since emerged as a prominent Hindu landmark in the Northern sector of singapore.The temple complex has been brought to life with a splendor of sculptures surrounded by serene ambience conducive for spiritual stints, all befitting a religious institution of 'Divine Omnipresence'.
Well equipped two-storeyed multipurpose hall is part of Temple building. Its second story is fully air-conditioned and designed to cater for a capacity of no less than 500 persons.
